The Andrews Labor Government is improving accessibility across the transport network to ensure all Victorians can safely and easily get to where they need to go.
Minister for Public Transport Ben Carroll and Member for Williamstown Melissa Horne were at Newport Train Station today, where planning work will soon get underway to investigate improved accessibility as part of a $57.7 million package in the Victorian State Budget 2022/23.
Options presented will be considered with a range of key stakeholder groups to make sure proposed solutions meet the needs of all Victorians.
The Labor Government is improving accessibility and safety across the regional and metropolitan rail network building inclusive and safe stations for all Victorians.
Since 2014, the Government has delivered significant accessibility improvements to Victoria’s public transport network through the construction of 44 new or upgraded train stations, 41 level access tram stops, and hundreds of new and accessible trains, trams and buses.
