Entries Open For 2017 ResourceSmart Schools Awards

Victorian schools can now enter Sustainability Victoria’s ResourceSmart Schools Awards which recognise the efforts of communities striving to make a positive impact on their environment.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2017, the Awards recognise school and community projects which minimise waste, save energy and water, increase biodiversity and tackle climate change.

The ResourceSmart Schools Awards are Victoria’s largest sustainability awards program and are open to all Victorian government, independent and Catholic schools.

The 2017 categories are:

  • Biodiversity
  • Community Leadership
  • Energy
  • Leadership School of the Year (new)
  • School of the Decade (new)
  • Student Action Team of the Year
  • Teacher of the Year
  • Waste
  • Water

The Victorian Budget 2017/18 delivered $4.4 million to expand the ResourceSmart Schools program.
