Works Underway On Bendigo TAFE Revitalisation Project

26 February 2020

Students in Bendigo are a step closer to having the modern training facilities they deserve, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Training and Skills and Higher Education Gayle Tierney today joined Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan and Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards to announce Kane Nicholson would build Bendigo TAFE’s Bendigo City campus revitalisation project, and to turn the first sod on the $60 million project.

The project will deliver an education precinct that will boost activity and vibrancy in Bendigo’s central business district and invest in the future of regional Victoria.

The redevelopment will include the construction of a new three-storey building along Chapel Street, the refurbishment and repurposing of existing buildings on the campus, and the demolition of an existing building to allow for the future construction of the Bendigo Law Courts building.

The new and refurbished facilities will provide a new Learning Hub that will be a one-stop-shop for learning and student support, with collaborative spaces for students, teachers and the community to engage in social and learning activities

There will also be a new Industry Innovation Centre that will provide a flexible and accessible interface between Bendigo TAFE and industry.

The current Bendigo Technical Education Campus operations will be relocated to the Bendigo City Campus as part of the upgrade.

The project was designed by award-winning Victorian architects Architectus and Six Degrees and is scheduled to be completed by August 2021.
