Students in Frankston will soon enjoy upgraded classrooms and better school facilities thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke today turned the first sod to start construction on the new $850,000 upgrade to Frankston Primary School.
The school’s art deco building will be refurbished, with the new multipurpose classrooms featuring break-out spaces and reading nooks.
An amphitheatre hub will be created in the centre of the building and a new outdoors learning space will encourage movement and activity.
The plans have been drawn up by Chaulk Studio architects and Kubale Construction have been appointed as the builders, with the new-look school expected to be ready in April 2017.
Today marks two years since the Labor Government was elected to put people first, and we’ve spent every day of the last two years achieving that by building a stronger and fairer Education State.
A record $1.8 billion has been invested in school infrastructure in the past two budgets.
There are now 42 new government schools and hundreds of school upgrades in the construction pipeline in a school building boom that will create 4000 construction jobs.
