30 January 2015

Geelong’s Wathaurong Glass and Art will represent Victoria on the world stage by supplying gifts to dignitaries visiting the state.

Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Natalie Hutchins announced that pieces crafted by the business would be procured by the Andrews Labor Government, as part of the Aboriginal Inclusion Action Plan.

The Minister visited Wathaurong Glass and Art to see production first-hand.

During her tour, the Minister said that the pieces would be given to visiting dignitaries and would showcase the skill and artistry of Victorian businesses to the rest of the world.

The Minister said the Labor Government was committed to improving employment opportunities for Aboriginal people and working with Aboriginal owned and staffed organisations like Wathaurong Glass and Art.

Wathaurong Glass and Art supplies a variety of innovative products including glass art, splash backs for kitchens, bathroom screens and special custom made pieces for homes.
