Victoria’s high-quality vocational education and training sector was on display at Australian Training Awards.
Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney today congratulated the three Victorian winners recognised in the national awards, announced as part of a virtual ceremony held in Melbourne.
The winners included:
- Teacher/Trainer of the Year - Kevin Nunn, TAFE Gippsland
- Large Training Provider of the Year - South West Institute of TAFE
- Small Training Provider of the Year - Builders Academy Australia
The Australian Training Awards are the country’s peak national awards recognising the outstanding achievements of individuals, teachers, training providers and employers in the VET sector.
The Awards are hosted by the Australian Government and they are the culmination of the state and territory awards, with winners from each state and territory competing for a national awards title.
A total of 75 finalists were shortlisted across seventeen categories, including winners of the 2020 Victorian Training Awards, announced last month.
Ms Tierney personally wished Victoria’s finalists luck as part of a virtual meet and greet held prior to the Australian Training Awards ceremony.
Since 2015, the Victorian Government has committed more than $1.5 billion to rebuild our TAFE system and ensure students can get the skills they need for the jobs they want.
