US E-Commerce Leader Selects Victoria For Asia Pacific HQ

20 July 2018

Victoria’s reputation as a leader in e-commerce was boosted today with the announcement that US digital agency, Brand Value Accelerator (BVAccel), will establish its Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne creating 50 new jobs.

BVAccel delivers innovative e-commerce and digital marketing services to high-growth brands, including MVMT, Red Bull, Ivory Ella, Kopari Beauty and Cupshe.

The company was one of the original six Shopify Plus agencies and is currently the largest Shopify Plus agency in the world. BVAccel's new Melbourne office will employ designers, developers and marketing staff.

The Andrews Labor Government has worked hard to secure the investment, with Minister for Trade and Investment Philip Dalidakis meeting the company in the United States last year.

The announcement adds to the list of major global e-commerce companies setting up in Melbourne. China’s top two players – Alibaba and JD.com – have recently set up regional headquarters here, while US giant Amazon has established its first Australian logistics centre in Dandenong.

Victoria’s rise as an e-commerce hub is not only delivering jobs for local tech workers, it is also creating opportunities for local businesses to take their world-class products to hundreds of millions of new online customers around the world.

The Labor Government is helping local businesses make the most of this opportunity by partnering with global e-commerce leaders to deliver workshops on how to market products online.

Local companies like Swisse, Goat Soap and Ego Pharmaceuticals are all seeing rapid growth in e-commerce sales and are great examples of how tapping into these global markets creates jobs locals and boosts the Victorian economy.
