Major upgrades at the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park in Morwell ─ backed by the Allan Labor Government – have taken an important step forward with a head builder appointed to deliver the project.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced that Victorian company Building Engineering Pty Ltd has been appointed to lead the upgrades to the region’s premier sports and entertainment venue.

Building Engineering have extensive experience in delivering high quality projects across Victoria, including the Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre at Ivanhoe Grammar, and West Gippsland Performing Arts Centre.

The upgrades will include a new grandstand pavilion with change rooms and amenities, redeveloped and upgraded pitches with new lighting and player facilities, a new change facility, and increased car parking.

As well as being the region’s major outdoor events venue, the park will continue to be the home of Falcons 2000, Gippsland United FC, Latrobe Valley Soccer League and Gippsland Referees.

Building Engineering have also been appointed as the head builder for the Morwell Gun Club upgrade, which will include two new Olympic standard trap shooting ranges, player shelters, an armoury, maintenance shed and upgrades to the car park.

The Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park upgrades are expected to be completed in late 2026. Morwell Gun Club upgrades are expected to be completed in late 2025.

They are two of the four projects in the region that are part of the Gippsland Sports Package, which also includes the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium and Ted Summerton Reserve.
