The inaugural principal has been appointed to lead Torquay North Primary School.
Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney today announced Darren Roskosch as the principal of the new school.
Opening in 2018, Torquay North Primary has capacity for 400 students. The school has been designed with the local community in mind and will include an early learning centre run by the YMCA.
Mr Roskosch is currently the principal of Barwon Heads Primary School and has been in that role for the past seven years. He has previously served as the Assistant Principal and Principal of Echuca Primary School.
A community information session will be held in the first half of 2017 for local residents to meet Mr Roskosch, discuss enrolments and learn about the new school’s design and features.
Torquay North Primary is one of 42 new government schools in the construction pipeline following a record $1.8 billion investment by the Andrews Labor Government in new schools and school upgrades around the State.
