Supporting Clean Energy And Jobs

20 September 2016

The Andrews Labor Government has confirmed the first group of successful recipients of its $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund grants.

Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio today announced that RayGen Resources will receive more than $1 million funding to support the design, construction and manufacture of a new automated production line for its world-leading solar technology.

Through this funding RayGen Resources will be able to undertake manufacturing improvements to their world leading module technology, creating over 40 new jobs in the process.

The Labor Government’s investment is essential to fast-track this project, enabling RayGen Resources to develop a template that can be utilised to meet export opportunities.

This is one of 24 grants which will be announced in the coming months, with the RayGen Resources obtaining funding under the Manufacturing category.

The Government received a strong response to the $5 million first round allocation, with applicants providing a range of ideas for projects that support clean energy and help position Victoria as a leader in new technologies.

The New Energy Jobs Fund is a key component of our $200 million Future Industries Fund to support high growth, high value industries – like the new energy technologies sector – critical to securing Victoria’s future as a competitive and outward looking economy.
