The Premier has requested that the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet initiate an inquiry into reported incidents of inappropriate behaviour by the Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade.
This follows a formal complaint being made by the Minister’s Chief of Staff.
The inquiry will also examine the operation of the Office of the Minister, including management practices, capability and adherence to the Victorian public sector values.
The inquiry will determine whether there are any matters appropriate for referral to other Victorian authorities.
The Premier has stood the Minister aside from his position pending the outcome of the inquiry and will take over his portfolio responsibilities.
