Two volunteers have lost their lives today and another has been seriously injured responding to a drowning situation in Port Campbell.
This is an unspeakable tragedy and my thoughts are with the two victims’ family and friends during this terribly sad time.
These individuals selflessly volunteered to keep people safe and devastatingly, they’ve lost their lives doing that.
My heartfelt thanks goes out to them and their loved ones for their commitment to their community.
A full investigation will take place following this incident to identify any possible improvements that can be made.
