Hamilton locals will have access to improved training opportunities with the new Southern Grampians Adult and Community College (SGAECC) now under the one roof.

Minister for Training and Skills Steve Herbert officially opened the new premises during a visit to Hamilton this afternoon.

Before the opening of the new building, SGAECC had to operate across three separate premises due to an increase in student enrolments.

This new building brings all students and staff under the one roof and features five training rooms, student lounge, a large reception area and office space and the building has full disability access.

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting community training organisations like SGAECC because they provide support to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community.

In 2015, SGACECC received more than $860,000 in funding from the Labor Government to deliver both accredited and pre-accredited training in courses including information technology, hospitality, retail and business.
The Labor Government recognises the important role community training organisations play in providing accessible and local education and training options to vulnerable and disengaged learners in local communities.

We’re working with Learn Local and other community providers to ensure their ongoing sustainability and success.

SGAECC is a prime example of a community organisation working for the good of their community and its new premises will help it training Southern Grampians locals for years to come.
