Victoria Set To Welcome Expensify Australian HQ

06 September 2016

The Andrews Labor Government today welcomed US company Expensify’sExternal Link announcement that it will establish its Australian Headquarters in Melbourne.

The company – behind the world’s fastest growing expense management software – joins the growing list of leading edge digital tech firms to choose Melbourne as a base for growing their presence across the Asia-Pacific.

The company announced the move at the Xerocon South cloud accounting conference in Brisbane, which is being run by fellow global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) leader Xero.

In June this year, Xero announced it would be expanding its Melbourne office by a further 50 staff, bringing its Victorian workforce to more than 200 software development and sales staff.

As part of its ongoing efforts to position Melbourne as the Asia-Pacific’s hub for digital technology company headquarters, the Labor Government worked closely with Expensify to secure its investment in Victoria.

Founded in San Francisco in 2008, Expensify is the innovation leader in automated expense management, with 20,000 customers around the globe.

The office in Melbourne marks Expensify's expansion to a third continent, after having opened a London office earlier this year.

The company already delivers its online and mobile-based service to Atlassian, Nando’s, Swatch, and La Trobe University in Australia, as well as hundreds of local small businesses.
