Treasurer Clicking For Vic Ahead Of Budget

22 November 2020

Treasurer Tim Pallas is backing Victorians hit hard by the global coronavirus pandemic and the summer bushfires – and encouraging others to do the same – ahead of Tuesday’s Victorian Budget 2020/21.

This year, he has nominated the Victorian Bushfire Appeal as his charity of choice – a tradition he has kept for all five budgets delivered to date by the Andrews Labor Government.

The Appeal has raised more than $19 million since January, with 100 per cent of proceeds going directly to communities in need for both urgent assistance and through the rebuilding and recovery phase.

Mr Pallas has made a personal donation and as per usual, is urging his parliamentary colleagues and Victoria’s business leaders to donate too.

But in a year like no other, he’s upping the ante and challenging them to also support the Click for Vic campaign.

Launched earlier this year, the Click for Vic website connects Victorians with the best of the best of the state’s local producers and creators – whether it’s food, wine, galleries or homewares – many of them hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

To support Click for Vic, go to visitvictoria.com/clickforvicExternal Link or to donate to the Bushfire Appeal, visit your local Bendigo Bank branch or go to vic.gov.au/bushfireappealExternal Link .

All charitable donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Quotes attributable to Treasurer Tim Pallas

“Much of Victoria’s 2020 has been defined by these two events – I wanted to acknowledge both in the lead-up to this year’s Budget.”

“We’ve stood with communities and businesses every step of the way – and we’ll continue to back them as we get on with the job of recovery and rebuilding.”

“While not everyone will be in a position to make a donation, I urge everyone who can to dig deep – and if not, then support our local farmers, growers, producers and creators.”
