Time To Nominate Victoria’s Coastal Champions

12 June 2015

Nominations are open for the 2015 Victorian Coastal Awards for Excellence, Parliamentary Secretary for the Environment, Anthony Carbines, announced today.

The Victorian Coastal Council’s Awards celebrate the outstanding work of individuals and groups in enhancing and protecting Victoria’s coastal and marine environments.

Victorians are encouraged to nominate people who have made an important contribution to preserving Victoria’s coasts.

Many people work tirelessly to ensure the protection and preservation of our coastal and marine environments, and the Victorian Coastal Awards are a way we can thank people for their efforts.

Importantly, the Coastal Awards also raise awareness and understanding about the ways in which communities can take action when it comes to the coast.

Anyone can nominate for the awards, and previous nominees have included individual community members, groups, schools, committees of management, government agencies, designers, builders and architects.

Nominations are sought for the following categories:

  • Natural Environment
  • Education
  • Planning and Management
  • Design and Building
  • Community Engagement
  • Outstanding Individual Achievement

Nominations close midnight, Sunday, 2 August 2015. Further information and nomination forms are available at www.vcc.vic.gov.auExternal Link
