Timboon’s Sweet Expansion To Draw A Crowd

19 March 2016

Life in Timboon will soon be even sweeter, with a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government to create new jobs and attract foodies from across Victoria.

Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford today announced $400,000 from the Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund to revitalise the CBD with a new streetscape, and $150,000 for the new boutique Timboon Fine Ice Creamery.

Timboon Fine Ice Cream will build new facilities in the heart of Timboon, including a space for ice cream master classes.

It will almost triple the number of people employed by the company – from 4 full-time employees to 11.

Timboon Fine Ice Cream is a family business that currently produces 30,000 litres of ice cream products each year, sold through local shops along the Great Ocean Road and from ice cream vans during festivals and events across Victoria.

Visitors will soon be able to buy direct from the newly built factory, which will also allow Timboon Fine Ice Cream to develop new products, expand its production and employ more staff.

The Timboon Streetscape project will upgrade street infrastructure, increase public open spaces and improve access for pedestrians between the CBD, nearby car parks, the Timboon Railway Park Precinct and rail trail.

The $500 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund is designed create jobs and make rural and regional communities even better places to live, work and visit.”
