There's only one way to describe the Metro Tunnel: it's the biggest public transport project in Australia.
Two giant rail tunnels will snake underground from Flemington to South Yarra – under the CBD and the river – linking up the city's most clogged train lines.
In one swoop, it will bring our transport system into the 21st century.
We'll be able to run so many more trains across the network that timetables will be a thing of the past: you'll just turn up and go.
This isn't a pipedream. It's fully funded. It's underway. And we're getting it done.
