Students attending Victoria’s 10 Tech Schools will have access to better learning programs thanks to a new partnership with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).
The strategic partnership will support the delivery of leading science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in Victoria through the Tech Schools initiative.
CSIRO will work with Tech Schools to make their existing education programs available, help develop new Tech School programs, offer specialist expertise and, where possible, provide access to CSIRO equipment, researchers and educators.
Senior CSIRO representatives will also join several expert advisory panels that provide industry and scientific know-how to support the implementation of the Tech Schools initiative.
By accessing the CSIRO’s relationships with leading companies in the innovation space, Tech Schools will also be able to establish new industry partnerships to inform their programs.
The Andrews Labor Government is investing $128 million to establish 10 Tech Schools across the state as part of its commitment to deliver the Education State for Victoria.
