The Andrews Labor Government has announced the first 21 recipients of the ground-breaking Creators Fund – supporting Victoria’s creative minds to take their innovative projects to the next level.
Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley today congratulated Victorian creatives working across a range of industries, who will share in $700,000 to support their projects and ideas.
A key initiative of the Labor Government’s $115 million Creative State strategy, the fund will help recipients research and develop their ideas over a three to six-month period.
The creators – who include both prominent practitioners and emerging talent – were selected by an expert panel after more than 200 applications.
The Creators Fund is helping Victorians from all walks of life, from Indigenous fashion designers to composers, games studios and theatre companies.
The Labor Government is supporting the $23 billion creative economy to create jobs, support local artists and bring social and cultural benefits to Victorians.
