Statement From The Premier

01 June 2017

Mr Anthony Foster will be farewelled with a State Funeral at 10.30am on Wednesday 7 June at the Melbourne Recital Centre in Southbank.

Mr Foster was a relentless campaigner for justice on behalf of many and was closely associated with a significant number of people and organisations.

Family, friends, colleagues and associated groups and organisations are invited to attend the funeral and information about attendance and registration can be found at vic.gov.au or by calling 9603 9930.

Unfortunately, there is limited capacity inside the venue.

For those who wish to pay their respects to Mr Foster and his service to our state, there will be an opportunity to farewell him as the casket leaves the venue following the service.

This will take place on Sturt Street, Southbank, between approximately 11.30am and midday on Wednesday.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested that people consider making a donation to the Blue Knot Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting survivors of childhood trauma: blueknot.org.au/donateExternal Link .
