Safer Crossings For Nepean Special School

13 March 2020

The Andrews Labor Government has made it safer for students from Nepean Special School to cross the road with the installation of new crossing technology helping them get to school.

Minister for Roads, Road Safety and the TAC Jaala Pulford announced that works were complete on the $20,000 upgrade of the intersection at Harnett Street and Klauer Street in Seaford.

User-Friendly Intelligent (PUFFIN) cameras will help give students and their families more time to safely cross the road.

The cameras work by detecting where people are on the crossing and gives them a realistic crossing time that allows for their safe passage to the other side of the road.
