Release Of Report On The Sixth Casino Review

03 August 2018

The Andrews Labor Government has today released the Sixth Review of the Casino Operator and Licence.

Under the Casino Control Act 1991, the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation is required to investigate Crown Melbourne Ltd at least every five years, to determine it remains suitable to hold the casino licence.

The Sixth Review found that Crown remains suitable to hold the casino licence.

However, it identified areas for improvement, making 20 recommendations covering the areas of responsible gambling, institutional governance and Crown’s organisational approach to regulation.

We expect Crown to implement all 20 recommendations in a timely manner so that these matters are not an issue at the next review.

I thank the Commission for its work and expect it to carefully monitor Crown’s implementation of the recommendations.
