Real-Time Train Information Arrives On The Bendigo Line

06 October 2015

The roll-out of real-time travel information at stations between Sunbury and Bendigo is now complete.

Electronic displays, public address announcement messages and customer information points are now operating at Clarkefield, Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton, Malmsbury, Castlemaine, Kangaroo Flat and Bendigo.

The new infrastructure gives passengers automated, accurate and timely information about train times, service changes and platform alterations.

The new displays also aid customers with hearing and visual impairments, with the improved audio and visual information making it easier to access real-time train information.

Installation of real-time passenger information at stations on the Bendigo line is part of works across the regional network, with the technology being installed at 33 V/Line stations on the Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Gippsland lines.

The systems are being progressively installed at the stations, with all works set to be complete before the end of the year. The project is being managed by VicTrack, on behalf of Public Transport Victoria.
