Putting Bentleigh Students First

14 November 2016

More than 700 primary school students in Bentleigh will benefit from a major upgrade at Coatesville Primary School, with building works now complete.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Bentleigh Nick Staikos today visited the school to cut the ribbon on the $7.8 million upgrade, the result of two years of construction to replace tired, dilapidated facilities.

Students will now enjoy a new indoor sports gymnasium, canteen, performing and visual arts centres, two new adventure playgrounds and an improved sports oval.

The Andrews Labor Government was elected to put people first, and we’ve spent every day of the last two years achieving that by building a stronger and fairer Education State.

There are now 42 new government schools and hundreds of school upgrades in the construction pipeline following our record $1.8 billion investment in school infrastructure.

This school building boom will create 4000 construction jobs and ensure all Victorian families have access to a great school no matter where they live.
