Premier Tours New Marysville Milestone

20 January 2015

More jobs and tourism are returning to Marysville, six years after the fires that devastated the town and destroyed many of its local businesses.

Premier Daniel Andrews, joined local Labor MP, Jaclyn Symes, and members of the community to get a sneak preview of the new Vibe Marysville Hotel and Conference Centre, which is near completion.

The local community and the previous Labor Government conceived the $28 million project to help with Marysville's economic recovery.

The new facility will include a 4 Star, 100-bed hotel, a conference centre for 300 people, a bar, cafe and restaurant and a gym, spa and wellbeing centre.

The project has created 42 jobs. Three long-term unemployed locals have started work on the project. Four families have moved into the area to take up employment.

The project will be completed by the end of January. Facilities will open to the public on Monday, 9 February, 2015.
