Premier-Elect Announces Strong, Stable and Diverse Team

Premier-elect Daniel Andrews announced that the following members of the Parliamentary Labor Party have been endorsed to serve alongside Mr Andrews and Deputy Leader James Merlino as Ministers in the new Cabinet:

With nine women to be appointed, Labor’s Cabinet will be the most diverse in Australia. Regional Victoria will have strong voices in Jacinta Allan, Jaala Pulford, Steve Herbert, Lisa Neville and John Eren.

Gavin Jennings will be the Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council with Jaala Pulford serving as Deputy Leader. Premier-elect Andrews has appointed Marlene Kairouz to serve as Cabinet Secretary.

When Parliament resumes, the Government will propose Telmo Languiller as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Don Nardella as Deputy Speaker, and Gayle Tierney as President of the Legislative Council.

Portfolios will be allocated by the Premier-elect and announced tomorrow, when the new Ministers will be sworn in with the Premier-elect at Government House. Parliamentary Secretaries will be announced in due course.
