Ocean Grove Primary Gets Funding Boost

13 May 2016

Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville today met students and staff at Ocean Grove Primary School to discuss plans for the school’s $4 million upgrade.

Planning for construction can now get underway after the Victorian Budget 2016/17 provided the funds needed for modernisation and upgrade works of the school’s buildings.

The funding is part of an unprecedented $1.1 billion investment in school infrastructure, including a record $924 million for capital works and an extra $200 million for maintenance.

The Andrews Labor Government is building the Education State so every student can get a great education, no matter where they live or what their background.

This starts with building, fixing and upgrading Victorian school infrastructure so students and teachers have the environment they need to achieve their best.

Throughout the state, hundreds of new school infrastructure projects, just like the one at Ocean Grove Primary School, are now set to get under way.

Ocean Grove Primary School also received a $28,328 equity funding boost this year to help give students the skills they need for work and life.

This increase is part of the Labor Government’s Education State work to provide an extra $566 million to help schools break the cycle of disadvantage.
