27 April 2022

Twelve Victorian women will be given the support and skills they need to advance their finance knowledge for sport leadership thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced the successful candidates for the Change Our Game Finance for Non-Financial Managers Pilot Program.

The program is designed to support women leaders in sport to enhance their financial management skills – which are critical for success at the executive level in sport management.

The three-day training program is being delivered by the Labor Government’s Office for Women in Sport and Recreation in partnership with Melbourne Business School and is specifically designed to support and empower women to progress their sports management careers.

One successful applicant is Stephanie Millar, currently Operations Manager at Calisthenics Victoria. Ms Millar is hopeful the course will enhance her prospects of Board positions at sports organisations.

The training will focus on the fundamentals of financial management and budgeting, accounting, risk assessment, contract management and planning to help the women advance their careers.
