Dinner Plain will now be home to year-round adventure activities, with the official opening of the new Dinner Plain Adventure Park today.
Unveiling the Park, Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Victoria, Danielle Green, said the Park would set Dinner Plain apart from other Australian ski resorts and bring more tourists to the region.
The $1.5 million project will see snow-making equipment used to lengthen the winter season, providing nature based activities such as toboggan runs and frisbee golf.
Improved tennis facilities, better walking trails and huts and a mountain bike park give visitors plenty to do all year-round.
The park will create up to 15 jobs, with a further 10 generated at supporting businesses. It is also expected to boost overnight visits to Dinner Plain by 10 percent in winter and 20 percent in summer.
The Victorian Government invested $350,000 in the Dinner Plain Adventure Park, which was funded in partnership with the Alpine Shire Council, Mount Hotham Skiing Company and the Federal Government.
