The Victorian Government has today appointed two new departmental Secretaries, with Peta McCammon to lead the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and Tim Ada to lead the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR).
Both Peta and Tim bring extensive experience as public sector leaders who have contributed to important reforms in recent years.
Peta comes to DFFH from the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), where she was Associate Secretary with responsibility for policy areas such as Youth Justice and service delivery reform, as well as other key internal functions.
Her Victorian Public Service career has also included senior roles at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC), the Department of Treasury and Finance and the then Department of Human Services. She has led reforms in family violence, mental health and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Tim joins DJSIR from DPC, where he was Deputy Secretary, Economic Policy and State Productivity. In this role, he has made an important contribution to the state’s economic development, innovation and infrastructure agenda.
Prior to his time at DPC, he was Deputy Secretary of Jobs and Innovation at the then Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, leading a team responsible for the development of a range of key industry sectors.
Tim has also held executive positions at the former Department of Environment and Primary Industries and, in the mid-2000s, established the Victorian Government Business Office in New York.
