New Men’s Shed For Swan Hill

21 September 2016

The Andrews Labor Government has announced a new Men’s Shed for Swan Hill, thanks to a $55,700 grant.

Speaking at the Swan Hill Neighbourhood House today, Minister for Families and Children Jenny Mikakos said the grant was part of a $1.2 million funding boost to build or refurbish 32 new or existing Men’s Sheds around Victoria.

The new shed will boost space for community programs and support the physical and mental wellbeing of locals.

The new Men’s Shed in Swan Hill will operate in partnership with the Swan Hill Neighbourhood House and Swan Hill District Health.

Men’s Sheds are safe and practical places for men to meet, make social connections and actively participate in their local communities.

They also promote social inclusion and enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of men in local communities and are especially important in regional communities such as Swan Hill.
