A New Home For CFA And SES In Woomelang

06 March 2016

The community of Woomelang is better equipped to respond to emergencies with the official opening of a new joint CFA and SES facility in Berriwillock-Sea Lake Road today.

Minister for Emergency Services Jane Garrett said the new $840,000 facility would help strengthen working relationships across emergency service agencies and allow for joint training.

The new emergency service facility has a four-bay engine room, CFA and SES office spaces, breathing apparatus room and a well-appointed kitchen.

It also includes a large meeting and training room, which is available for a wide range of community functions.

The new emergency service facility is a home for many of the local volunteers who are members of both the CFA and SES.

The Woomelang CFA and SES have been co-located for more than 15 years and this new facility means both groups can work together more effectively to protect their community.
