New Federation Square Chief Executive Appointed

12 July 2016

Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren has welcomed the appointment of Jonathan Tribe as the new Chief Executive of Federation Square.

Federation Square is one of Melbourne’s most iconic contemporary landmarks, and a key pillar of Victoria’s $21 billion visitor economy.

It’s where visitors come to enjoy our city’s renowned food and wine, and where Victorians congregate for great events.

Mr Tribe is an accomplished leader with a breadth of experience across private and public sector organisations.

He joins Federation Square from Victoria University, where he was Chief Operating Officer. He was previously Managing Director at leading hospitality company, Delaware North.

He has extensive executive experience managing multi-disciplinary businesses, international operations and business development, and has served as Director and President of industry bodies at state and federal level.

Victoria is the tourism and events leader in Australia, and the Andrews Labor Government wants it to stay that way. Mr Tribe’s appointment will help us maintain our world class reputation.

Since opening in 2002, Federation Square has welcomed more than 100 million visitors.
