Wycheproof families will have access to a brand new integrated early learning centre, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Education James Merlino today announced the Labor Government will provide $700,000 towards the new Wycheproof Early Learning Centre and will partner with Buloke Shire Council, who will provide any additional funding requirements for this project.
The new centre will offer three and four-year-old kindergarten programs, long day care, Maternal and Child Health Services and a supported playgroup – bringing a range of early years services together under one roof.
It will replace Buloke Shire Council’s existing preschool centre, which is more than 50 years old.
The new centre will be co-located at Wycheproof P-12 College and delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority, helping families ditch the dreaded double drop-off and making the transition from kinder to school easier for local children.
In addition, Wycheproof children are also benefiting from the Government’s landmark Three-Year-Old Kindergarten reform.
In an Australian-first, the Government is delivering two years of funded kindergarten for all Victorian children, with the roll-out already underway in Buloke.
This is about ensuring Buloke families have access to stronger support in early childhood, so kids are ready for kinder, ready for school and ready for life.
