New Bike Cage For Kangaroo Flat Station

07 April 2017

A brand new bike cage at Kangaroo Flat Station has now been installed providing more options for people to get to the station and catch the train.

Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan announced the new parkiteer cage will have room for 26 bikes.

The bike cage allows passengers to park and securely store their bikes at railway stations and can be opened with an access card.

More than 13,000 commuters are now taking advantage of bike lockers popularity of bike cages at 95 locations across Victoria.

The installation of the new bike cage follows last week’s announcement that 50 new car parks will be built at Kangaroo Flat station, with car park upgrades at Castlemaine, Woodend, Clarkefield and Macedon.

Earlier this year the Andrews Labor Government introduced 10 extra services on the Bendigo line as part of a new V/Line timetable, which added 80 new regional services across Victoria.

These new services built on the extra peak services delivered last year, and the start of Bendigo Metro – which changed the timetable so all weekday trains between Bendigo and Melbourne now stop at Kangaroo Flat.

Bicycle Network will manage the bike cage on behalf of PTV. The cage is free to use following payment of a $50 fully refundable bond.

To register for an access card for the bike cage at Kangaroo Flat, go to parkiteer.com.au or call 1300 546 526.
