More Cutting-Edge Manufacturing Jobs

13 June 2018

A global precision engineering company in Melbourne’s East will create 50 highly skilled jobs at its hi-tech facility thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll today visited ANCA’s headquarters in Bayswater, which is also home to the company’s purpose-built Apprentice Training Centre.

ANCA is a world leader in manufacturing computer numerical control grinding machines for the precision cutting tool industry, with operations on six continents and customers including Apple and Boeing.

The company employs more than 300 staff and, thanks to support from the Labor Government, is boosting its operations in Victoria – a sign of business confidence in the state.

ANCA will use its funding to consolidate its design, engineering and business units into a state-of-the-art global head office and research and development facility at its existing Bayswater site.

Support for ANCA follows figures from the Australian Industry Group’s Performance of Manufacturing Index, which show Victoria’s manufacturing industry has grown for 16 consecutive months – the longest run of growth ever.

The growth in manufacturing is underpinned by the Labor Government’s $120 million in manufacturing support, which is creating over 6,000 jobs and driving $1.6 billion in private investment.

ANCA has also received a Boost Your Business voucher in the Advanced Manufacturing stream to partner with the CSIRO to explore the use of laser technology in tool production.

The second round of the Boost Your Business Voucher Program is now open for applications.
