Legal Services Board Chair Reappointed

Attorney-General Martin Pakula has today announced the reappointment of Fiona Bennett as the Chair of the Victorian Legal Services Board for a further four years.

The Victorian Legal Services Board is an independent body which regulates the legal progression and provides protections for Victorians using legal services.

Ms Bennett has held the position of Chair since 2013, and been a Director of the Board since 2008.

Ms Bennett is also currently a non-executive director of Beach Energy Ltd and Hills Ltd, with extensive experience in commercial and financial management, governance, risk management and auditing.

She has held senior executive positions at BHP Billiton, the Coles Group, and has been Chief Financial Officer of several organisations within the health sector.

Ms Bennett is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.

The Legal Services Board is responsible for managing the Public Purpose Fund (PPF) on behalf of the legal profession and Victorian consumers of legal services.

The PPF delivers funds to Victoria Legal Aid which gives disadvantaged Victorians access to legal services and support.
