Labor To Deliver More CFA Trucks Than Promised

27 April 2015

In a significant boost to community safety across Victoria, the Andrews Labor Government has committed $33.5 million to deliver 70 CFA trucks.

The Minister for Emergency Services, Jane Garrett, announced the addition to the state wide fleet, which is 20 more than was originally earmarked for the Labor Government’s first budget.

The 70 new trucks will comprise 20 medium tankers, 40 heavy tankers and 10 medium pumpers that will incorporate modern up-to-date technology, which not only boosts firefighting capacity but also improves the safety of crews.

The CFA advised this mix of fleet best suited their operational requirements.

SEM Fire and Rescue Pty Ltd in Ballarat which specialises in the design, manufacture and service of special purpose vehicles for the Australian and export markets handed over 2 tankers today for Ballarat and Sebastapol.
