Jobs 4 Stawell Platform To Boost Local Employment

04 January 2017

The Andrews Labor Government is helping local employers connect with jobseekers affected by the recent mine closure in Stawell, with the launch of the Jobs4Stawell website.

Jobs4Stawell will be a central portal for both businesses and job seekers to use not only to fill jobs in the area, but also find advice and resources to assist in the job application and interview process.

The platform will help jobseekers promote their skills and experience and connect to the largely 'hidden' job market for locally based employers.

The website will be operated and promoted by the Ace Radio network and will receive up to $12,000 in funding from the Labor Government and Northern Grampians Shire Council.

The Jobs4Stawell platform will be community driven and free for users and will go live on 10 January, 2017.

The Labor Government is making the Business in Transition program available to retrenched workers to help them retrain and take advantage of other job opportunities.
