Inaugural Premier’s iAward For Public Sector Innovation

09 March 2016

Public sector innovation will be recognised by a new award category at the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) iAwards.

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced the establishment of the Victorian Premier’s iAward for Public Sector Innovation. This new award developed in partnership with the AIIA, recognises new ways of working and delivering government services to Victorians.

Projects and products nominated in the Victorian section of ‘Community Services’ and ‘Public Sector and Government’ iAwards categories will be eligible for the Victorian Premier’s iAward for Public Sector Innovation.

The winner will be announced at the National iAwards ceremony to be held this year in Melbourne on 1 September 2016.

The AIIA iAwards recognise the achievements of Australian companies and teams at the forefront of technology-led innovation. The award categories include Consumer, Community Services, Industrial and Primary Industries, Public Sector and Government, and Student Nominations.

Previous award winning projects in the broader public sector categories include Daisy App that better enables women affected by sexual assault or family violence to access support services via a simple smartphone application and the Retrieval and Critical Health (REACH) information system that gives a real time, web based bed occupancy reporting tool for use by health services.

Nominations for the 2016 Victorian iAwards close on 31 March.
