I met Georgie today.
She's a Year 10 student who used to face the worst kind of bullying in the schoolyard.
But now she's finally found a place where she can belong. She's happy and she's thriving.
That's all thanks to the Safe Schools Coalition at Elwood College – the very program the Federal Liberal Government wants to shut down.
I could talk to you about the power of love and respect and community, but perhaps I'll just let Georgie’s words speak for themselves: "I can't tell you how important it is that I feel safe at school… and I can't tell you how important it is that I no longer have to hide who I am."
