Communities in Melbourne’s west and western Victoria will be the big winners from a new partnership with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, backed by the Andrews Labor Government.
The three-year deal with WorkSafe Victoria will help the Bulldogs foundation continue to develop young leaders, as well as encouraging social diversity and inclusion.
It will also help raise awareness about the important workplace health and safety among young people starting out in workforce.
Some of the foundation’s programs that will benefit from the sponsorship include:
- Ready Settle Go!, a program that helps non-English speakers and those who have recently immigrated to settle in the Western Bulldogs community
- The Nallei Jerring Koori Youth Leadership program, that supports young people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
- Sons and Daughters of the West, which provides programs on nutrition, mental health, physical activity and community building for men and women who live in western Victoria.
The partnership will allow WorkSafe to have input into programs and speak directly to a new generation of leaders about health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
In 2018, more than 5000 people engaged with Western Bulldogs Community Foundation programs in 15 municipalities across Melbourne and Victoria’s west.
The naming rights partnership means the foundation will be known as the WorkSafe Western Bulldogs Community Foundation.
