Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is coming exclusively to Melbourne, Australia, opening in early 2019 at the Princess Theatre.

The record-breaking production will make its way to Melbourne after its world premiere in London’s West End and its highly anticipated opening on Broadway in April 2018.

Presented in two parts, the play is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first to be performed on stage.

The show’s popularity and success are simply without peer – winning 22 major theatre awards in the United Kingdom.

It’s become the most awarded production in Britain Olivier Awards history, winning an unprecedented nine awards earlier this year including Best New Play and Best Director.

The only way to see the show in the southern hemisphere is in Melbourne, with theatre goers expected to flock to our state from far and wide.

The play is expected to bring new audiences to the theatre, with a large number of fans in London watching the show having never been to the theatre before.

Many visitors to the play will extend their stay and enjoy the best of everything Victoria has to offer – creating jobs and booking out our restaurants and hotels.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.

Performance dates, ticketing details and casting will be announced soon. Sign up to the mailing list to stay up to date at HarryPotterThePlay.com.
