Grants For Exciting New Tourism Projects

20 September 2016

The Andrews Labor Government is playing its part to deliver a new round of grants for major tourism infrastructure projects that boost the economy and create jobs.

The Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure Program, delivered in conjunction with the Commonwealth, helps local organisations complete the projects that attract visitors from all over Victoria, Australia and the world. A new round of funding is now available

Grants of between $250,000 and $750,000 are open to businesses, investors, local governments or tourism associations for exciting new projects that boost economies and create jobs.

The last round of TDDI grants made a whole host of new tourism ventures possible, including:

  • A spa redevelopment and new geothermal pools at Deep Blue Hot Springs Warrnambool
  • The MCG Rooftop Experience, a new rooftop walk and zip line to the ground
  • Restoration of the Club Hotel in Clunes
  • A new wilderness boat tour at Wilsons Promontory.

The visitor economy is a key component of Victoria’s prosperity. People from all over the world flock to Victoria because they know we have something for everyone and the best of everything.

Now, we’re giving visitors more great experiences and more reasons to see our state for themselves.

The Labor Government recently launched the Victorian Visitor Economy Strategy to drive its bold plans to grow our visitor economy.

It outlines ambitions to increase visitor spending to $36.5 billion each year by 2025 and increase employment in the sector to 320,700 jobs.
