Grants Equip Sporting Clubs With A Bright Future

30 October 2022

New uniforms, equipment and training opportunities are in play for more than 1,000 Victorian grassroots sport and recreation clubs, backed by new funding from the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced the latest recipients sharing in more than $1.5 million from the Labor Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

Since 2014, the Program has injected more than $13.8 million into clubs across Victoria.

One of the grant recipients is Wantirna South Football Club, which is receiving $1,000 to purchase new uniforms and equipment for its first women’s team.

The Program provides up to $1,000 for uniforms and participation equipment, up to $5,000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness.

These initiatives are part of the Labor Government’s commitment to make community sport and recreation more inclusive and accessible, stimulate local economies, build sustainable sport and recreation volunteer opportunities and increase participation.
