Gates Open For Free At Lancefield Show

The Andrews Labor Government is providing $20,000 to the Lancefield Agricultural Society to cover cost of admissions to the Lancefield Show on Sunday 18 October 2015.

This grant will support the fire affected community come together as the recovery phase begins and enable any money raised at the gate to go towards supporting locals.

The Lancefield Show attracts hundreds of people from the local area and includes, stalls selling local produce, wine, arts and crafts, carnival rides, woodchop, terrier racing and dog high jumps, alongside traditional agricultural competitions.

The 2015 Lancefield Show also kicks off Extinct, the Lancefield Megafauna Festival. This celebrates the history of Megafauna bones such as the Diprotodon, or Giant Wombat, that have been found in the local area.

All Victorians are encouraged to get down to the Lancefield Show and give their support to the Lancefield community as they move to the recovery phase.
