Free Regional Public Transport to Celebrate the New Year

Regional Victorians celebrating New Year’s Eve will once again enjoy free evening travel after 6pm, including travel to Melbourne.

Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said travel on all modes of public transport across the state will be free for customers after 6pm on New Year’s Eve until the first normal scheduled services on New Year’s Day.

Those celebrating in Melbourne can also travel free on the first V/Line service departing to each regional destination on New Year’s Day.

Customers are advised to check timetables and plan ahead if they are using public transport on New Year’s Eve.
