Driving A New Tafe Agenda In Victoria

24 February 2016

Expressions of Interest for future board members of Victoria’s 12 publicly owned TAFEs have opened.

At the end of last year, the Andrews Labor Government passed legislation to restore democracy and increase independence to TAFE boards.

The government is now looking for board members that along with TAFE CEOs, and elected staff members will drive the government’s strengthened agenda for TAFEs in both metro and regional areas across the state.

Among the skills sought for each board is knowledge and experience in management, finance, commerce or business, law, corporate governance, community engagement or in the vocational education and training sector.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to drive the government’s commitment to rebuild and restore Victoria’s TAFEs to thriving public providers of vocational training.

All positions are now open for applications. Current members of TAFE boards are encouraged to apply.

Expressions of interest close at midnight on Friday, March 4.
