Delivering First-Class Facilities For Monbulk Students

31 May 2019

Students in the Yarra Ranges are one step closer to having the first-rate education facilities they deserve with stage one now complete, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Monbulk College to officially open the school’s $3 million administration and resource building, featuring a brand new library, four general purpose classrooms and open plan office spaces including staff lounge.

The new two-storey administration and resource building includes an entry foyer and reception counter, administration offices, sick bay, toilets and plant area on the lower ground floor.

The first floor features the new library and toilets, as well as support, learning, and breakout spaces for students.

This week’s Victorian Budget 2019/20 also include additional funding towards planning and early work ahead of the final major stage of the school.

The Labor Government is set to complete stage two of the building works at Monbulk College in September this year.

The investment in stage two of the works, worth close to $7.6 million, includes the demolition of an existing building, refurbishment of the existing administration building, construction of new classrooms and specialist spaces for information and communication technology.

Chrisp Architects and Lloyd Group were appointed to design and build the facilities which provide an appealing and relaxed learning environment with spaces that promote independent learning as well as team working and online learning.
